Crocheting V crochet stitch using a graph chart.

I just posted a new video tutorial on how to create a V crochet stitch using a graph chart. I noticed that many crochet patterns using graph charts seem to stick to a limited set of stitches, which can get repetitive. Crochet is so much more than just a few basic stitches—it can be whatever you want it to be! That’s why I started experimenting with different stitch variations and designs to make graph crochet patterns more exciting.

The first stitch I explored was the V crochet stitch (I didn’t create the stitch, but I found a new way to use it to suit my project). While it worked well, I wanted it to be a bit fuller. After a quick online search, I came across tons of links to the double V crochet stitch, which fit my needs perfectly. My little experiment was a success!

In this video, I show you how to create the V crochet stitch using a graph chart. I believe these charts shouldn't be limited to simple filet crochet or basic single and double crochet stitches—they should be a canvas for creativity. With over 1,000 free crochet pattern charts available on YarnYokel, there’s endless potential to explore. Dare to be bold and dream up something new. Sometimes, the extra effort is worth it!

Check out the video and let your creativity flow with free crochet patterns and endless stitch possibilities at YarnYokel!

I hope that it helps someone create a beautiful piece of work.

Crochet Love Pattern using single crochet.

                                        Love Pattern

I recently made this project using one of the free crochet charts I posted on the site a while back. You can find the free crochet pattern right here on this page:

I created this piece using only single crochet stitches. I know it sounds a bit basic, but the clean look on both sides made it worth it! What’s even better—there was absolutely NO cutting involved. I simply carried the yarn through the stitches without any colors peeking through, which is a huge win for me. Some people say, "Oh, you can just carry the yarn through," but for me, it’s a big deal when using multiple colors in a pattern. You don’t want bulky stitches with other colors showing through. Personally, I like my finished piece to look neat and polished.

That’s my goal: clean, professional-looking crochet without cutting and sewing tails!

Now I’m on a mission to find more stitches that work just as cleanly without all the extra cutting. Stay tuned as I continue this crochet quest to discover the best stitches for a flawless finish! In the meantime, check out the YarnYokel Patterns page for even more free crochet patterns and inspiration!

Crochet Cluster Stitch - using a graph chart

I found another stitch that will work for crocheting using a graph chart. It is called the "cluster stitch". I stumbled upon this one while scrolling through Youtube which I do often when I can't sleep. I guess my sleepless night is everyones gain. I guess we all learned something out of it. I was watching a video on crocheting the cluster stitch. I really would like to say thank you to all of you who create these videos for all of us like myself. They are great tools for learning. Well suddenly it came to me, that this one type of crochet stitch might just work also for a graph chart.

I let it mull around in my head for a few days. I had some free time afterwork one night, so I decided to give it a whirl. You never know until you try! It worked okay... except.....when I was done there was a lot of cutting. Which in turn meant ALOT of sewing. It turned out pretty good and it also accomplished a nice look using one of these graph style charts as a pattern.
Here is the sample swatch I created.

Well....I then decided to create a video for you on how to crochet the cluster stitch using a graph chart. I guess my sleepless night paid off. Also thanks to all the wonderful folks on youtube for creating all the great tutorials.
